GROW is currently looking for a Marine Logistics Supervisor to be placed for one of our clients in the construction industry for deployment to the Cayman Islands.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in inventory planning, shipping, warehousing, and logistics, with essential experience in marine and ground engineering works.
- Proven experience in vessel coordination and port operations, including cargo planning, berthing schedules, customs clearance, supplier coordination, and discharge operations.
- Strong background in inventory control and procurement, including planning cement and aggregate levels, preparing orders, and processing supplier payments (local and overseas).
- Good command of English (written and verbal) and proficient in using spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Self-motivated and dependable, able to work regular hours (Mon–Sat) with 24/7 availability when required, and must hold a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible to support the company’s ordering and logistics processes for raw materials, including:
- Participating the planning of inventory levels of cement and aggregates Assisting the Operations Manager in the preparation of orders for cement and aggregates
- Preparing payment requests for local and overseas suppliers
- Calculating the voyage timing and consumption of cargo vessels
- Arranging arrivals in loading ports with vessel, suppliers and agents
- Arranging arrivals in discharge ports with vessel
- Updating the berthing schedule for discharge in Cayman
- Coordination of berthing assistance by including pilots, pilot boats and tugs
- Clearing incoming vessels through Cayman Customs (and the COLS system), Port Authority, Department of Agriculture
- Assisting the Materials Handling Supervisor with the scheduling of discharge operations in Cayman
- Local procurement and delivery of materials needed by the vessels calling Cayman
- Clearing vessels for departure through Cayman Customs and Port Authority
- Clearing vessel personnel through airport and seaport Immigration as required
- Transporting vessel personnel in Cayman as required
- Other duties as required by the Operations Manager
